Thugs are Us
By Eric Girold
An abandoned building in East Harlem, New York City, attracted drug dealers and other scum. Locals placed fluffy toys, like teddy bears and cute bunnies in the windows and on the fire escapes. This attracted all the news reporters and other idle journalists to the place, perhaps to ponder of this new alien invasion and see if one of the lifeless creature could not, by any means, be a Martian in disguise. No creature from outer space was discovered. Drug market profits soon decreased and frustrated addicts turned to LSD instead, to make friends with the teddy bears, which declined the honor. And this is a true story. Eventually, drugs disappeared from this neighborhood.
